On this last day of PAX, I’ve had a chance to gather together some of the pictures from the weekend. We had a great time at the show: it has been a ton of fun sharing our plans for Episode Two and DeathSpank with everyone.

After an exciting first day, the first full day of PAX is getting started. The Hothead booth has been packed with people, playing Episode One, watching demos of Episode Two and picking up DeathSpank and Precipice of Darkness merch. We’ve also had a pretty large number of entrants into our cosplay contest.

One More Day to PAX
We’ve already arrived in Seattle and are busy getting everything setup for PAX. Watch this space for updates throughout the weekend.
One of the highlights for us is the Hothead Games panel, where a number of us Hotheads will be on hand to show Episode Two, talk about DeathSpank, and take questions from the audience. If you’re at the show, now is your chance to come by and ask us anything you like. We’re in the Walrus Theater on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. We expect there to be lots of talk and questions about the PlayStation 3 version of the game, so to celebrate the new platform we will be giving away a signed PS3 to one lucky panel attendee! Hope to see you there.
We have also been getting lots of questions from people who are really interested in the Episode One Collector’s Edition, but who won’t be at the show to pick one up. If there are any copies of the Collector’s Edition left over when PAX is done, we will bring them with us to the next show we are at. As a company focused on digitial distribution, we simply aren’t setup to handle the logistics of mailing these out. So if you have a friend coming to the show, definitely ask them to pick one up for you. For everyone else, we have certainly heard you, so after we get back we are going to look into whether there is something we can do to get these out to you. No guarantees of course, but we will do our best! Stay tuned….
Hothead at PAX 2008
We’re very busy getting ready for the upcoming Penny Arcade Expo, held in Seattle August 29-31. This year’s show promises to be even bigger than the last, so we’re really excited to show you our games and meet with many of you again.
On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness will of course feature heavily in our booth (#1114). Episode One will be freely playable, and we will be running demos of Episode Two every hour. We will even show the game running on PlayStation 3 on some of those demos.
Last year we had a ton of requests for merch at our booth. We listened, and this year we will have a bunch of stuff available. In addition to several different t-shirts, we will have copies of Episode One for sale. You can purchase one of the collectible cards with a code to unlock the game for $20, or pick up the Collector’s Edition for $40. This special edition features a fruit fucker keychain, an Episode One t-shirt, printed game manual, special 20-sided die, and the game on an actual disc (gasp). All of this is contained in an attractive collectible box. Quantities are limited on this special boxed version of the game, so be sure to grab your copy at the show.
We have lots in store for the show. For fans of DeathSpank, we will even have information and merch for this next episodic adventure game currently in production.

We’re excited that Penny Arcade Adventures, On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One has been nominated for a Best Downloadable Content Award by G4/X-Play’s Gphoria Awards!

Rain-Slick Destined for the PlayStation Network!
As part of our continual quest to bring the Penny Arcade game to every gaming platform we can, we are pleased to announce that On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is coming soon to PlayStation 3 on the PlayStation Network! The team has actually been working on the PS3 version for a little while now and it’s looking really good.
We are excited about integrating our first PSN title with all the cool features Sony is building on that platform. You can read the official press release, or just stay tuned here for more news, screenshots and announcements as we get closer to the release of this version.
